Every week my bio {see below} claims what a "horrible cook" I am. I promise, not only is it true, my children can attest to it. However, what it doesn't say ... is what a great baker I am. I know, weird.
I keep my mad baking skills a closely guarded secret though. As you can imagine, if that were to get out I'd be up to my elbows in flour and making quite a mess of my keyboard! But, when the kids ask ~ my apron comes out and we get busy making the house smell amazing.
Baking has always been a fond memory for me.
- My mom baking like crazy around the holidays as a Navy wife.
- Discovering my own skills {passed down from previous generations no doubt}.
- The first time I successfully baked my husband's favorite cake, from scratch.
- My teenager making his first successful batch of chocolate chip cookies.
- And all the bake sales I prepared goodies for when the kiddos were younger.
Looking forward to participating in a Bake Sale has always been considered a "sickness" my friends lovingly tease me about. But the truth is, it speaks to the planner in me by way of helping an organization raise funds.
