Classroom Snack and Reader Volunteer Template - Day View (volunteers choose the day and month they wish to read in the classroom)
On Tuesday, Mrs. Taylor volunteered to read to the children in her son's classroom. The children chose the book, then sat down in a semi-circle while Mrs. Taylor sat in the rocking chair and read the Cat in the Hat to the kids. They sat attentively, and thanked Mrs. Taylor when she was done.
The following week, Mrs. Taylor was in the supermarket, and one of her son's classmates ran up to her and said "Look, my mom bought me three more Dr .Suess books! I loved Cat in the Hat! Thanks for reading to us." The child's mom smiled and said, "How can I sign up to read in the classroom?"
Mrs. Taylor explained how easy it was to choose a day and time that worked for her by clicking on the link in her email, then selecting a day on the VolunteerSpot calendar. She also confessed that she had forgotten about her comittment, but received an automated email reminder two days before her assigned day...she was so relieved!
It's difficult to keep track of all the volunteer needs at school, but VolunteerSpot's free and easy sign up calendars make it easier to fit volunteering in to YOUR schedule! Try it out today!
